Funding Opportunities

Capital and Special Projects
ATHLETIC AND FITNESS CENTER ($18 million)
The new Athletic and Fitness Center (AFC) was officially dedicated on October 22, 2004. There are still naming opportunities available.

ART AND DESIGN CENTER ($1.5 million)
The Art and Design Center opened in September 2004, and was officially dedicated on October 20, 2005. Please visit the CAD site to support this important investment in the arts at Chatham.

CAMPUS RENEWAL ($1 million)
the University invests up to $1 million per year in capital improvements. Contributions to support annual campus renewal may support general maintenance, substantial renovation projects such as the Campbell Memorial Chapel or investments in the development of the Chatham University Arboretum.

EDDY THEATRE ($400,000)
Chatham seeks to upgrade the sound and lighting systems in the Eddy Theatre so that it can return to full use as the University’s primary stage for plays and public programs. In addition, the University is exploring the potential of incorporating a portable Black Box Theatre within the Eddy to continue the tradition begun in the early 1990s of providing a flexible theatre space.

HOWE-CHILDS GATE HOUSE ($1.5 million)
Official dedication of the Gate House took place on June 5, 2003. If you would like to make a gift in support of the Howe-Childs Gate House Project, please visit our secure online giving form.

REAL-ESTATE ACQUISITION
As it plans for the future, Chatham University is constantly looking for opportunities to further its capacity for greater enrollment and program development. To this end, the University pursues opportunities for real estate acquisition that meet these needs. The support of alumnae and friends to ensure that the University can take advantage of these opportunities is greatly appreciated. Contributions to the “Real Estate Acquisition Fund” will be placed into a non-endowed, restricted fund giving the University the flexibility to respond to opportunities as they arise.

WOODLAND HALL RENOVATION ($1,050,000)
In 2004, the Chatham University Art and Design Center opened, providing a new space for the studio arts at Chatham. Today, the majority of the arts programs, relocated from two floors in the primarily residential Woodland Hall, are located in that single building. Now, the University has an opportunity to increase the space available to its expanding Physicians’ Assistant program, dedicate a permanent gallery to the impressive Cheryl Olkes ’70 African Art Collection, and invigorate campus life for undergraduate and graduate students with an indoor/outdoor accessible café in a central campus location. This multi-faceted renovation project will begin in summer 2005.
