Fundraising Volunteer Opportunities

Alumnae Annual Fund Volunteers
The Annual Fund is a fundraising priority every year. It provides unrestricted operational dollars for Chatham, which helps to meet the College’s continuous need for flexible income and is applied where student and faculty needs and opportunities are greatest. Alumnae contribute more than 75% of the funds raised in the Annual Fund. And, it is the positive role of Class Agents and the Alumnae Fund Leadership Committee (AFLC) that help to ensure success. Please consider a donation of time as well as money this year. Become a class agent or a member of the AFLC.

Class Agent
Class Agents make an important connection between the College and their classmates by enlisting their participation and financial support of the College. Last year, 53 alumnae volunteers served as class agents, encouraging their classmates to participate in the Annual Fund. This year, our goal is to have two volunteer Class Agents for each class, especially classes who will be celebrating a special reunion year.

  • A Class Agent’s primary responsibility is to help Chatham raise funds for the Annual Fund and to meet their class dollar and participation goals.
  • Class Agents will serve a two-year term and work closely with the Assistant Director of Annual Fund and Donor Relations.
  • One or more class agent(s) will lead their class to succeed in meeting goals for participation and financial support. These goals will reflect an increase in the class’ highest year of giving and participation.
  • Class Agents will receive special recognition in Annual Fund printed materials and the Chatham College Donor Report in the fall.

Become a Class Agent today by contacting Kristin DeLuca '02 , Assistant Director of Annual Giving at 412-365-2734.

Annual Fund Leadership Committee (AFLC) member
AFLC members are alumnae volunteers charged with retaining and increasing the number of leadership annual fund donors who comprise The 1869 Society. Committee members are current 1869 Society members who support the College’s fundraising goals by soliciting sister alumnae and/or friends to make renewed or pledged gifts of unrestricted support to the Annual Fund.

  • Members of the AFLC are also members of The 1869 Society and contribute $1,000 or more to the Annual Fund.
  • Members personally solicit a minimum of 10 prospects to The 1869 Society via face-to-face meetings, phone calls, letters and/or emails.
  • Members help to identify and cultivate new prospects for The 1869 Society.
  • AFLC members receive special recognition in Annual Fund printed materials and the Chatham College Donor Report.

Become an AFLC member today by contacting Heather Johanson, Director of Annual Giving Programs at 412-365-1262.

Planned Giving Leadership Committee (PGLC)
One of Chatham’s major areas of emphasis in 2006-2007 is the continued growth of Chatham’s planned giving program. In order to accomplish this, the College is in the process of establishing a planned giving committee responsible for recruiting members to The Dilworth Society and possibly soliciting planned gifts.

  • Members of the committee will make personal contact either through meetings, phone calls or personal notes to individuals who have expressed interest in establishing a life income gift, such as a trust or an annuity, or who have indicated that Chatham is in their will.
  • Members also would be willing to be featured in publications such as the Alumnae Recorder, The Dilworth Planner and Chatham InSight in the hopes that their testimonials would inspire others to do the same.
  • PGLC members will receive a Dilworth Society gold-tone pin and special recognition printed College materials.

Become a PGLC member today by contacting Samantha Swift, Director of Development and Planned Giving at 412-365-1652.
